Belleek Living Cutlery is made from 18/10 stainless steel, apart from the knives which are made from 18/0 stainless steel.

The numbers"18/10" and "18/0" are simply figures that illustrate the amount of chromium and nickel content present in stainless steel. Chrome is added to aid the steel in corrosion resistance and the nickel is added for a soft silver lustre.

18/10 stainless steel contains 18% chromium and 10% nickel content.18/0 stainless steel contains 18% chromium and 0% nickel matter.

Knives are made from 18/0 stainless steel to give it a better cutting edge and to make them less brittle but 18/0 is less resistant to corrosion.

It is stainless, however it is not stain proof, discoloration can be caused by ingredients found in tea, coffee, salad dressing, vinegar and salt. Stainless steel is highly resistant to staining, corrosion and rust as long as proper care is taken.

Yes! Your Belleek Living cutlery is meant to be used and enjoyed every day in your home.When using a dishwasher, remove cutlery as soon as the washing cycle is complete and dry thoroughly. However to maintain the quality, appearance and performance of your cutlery, we recommend you hand-wash and dry as soon as possible after use as some foods are high in acid content and could cause deterioration or discoloration.This will avoid spot staining which requires special cleaning with a quality stainless steel cleaner.

Load the dishwasher with the handles of the spoons and forks facing down and the handles of the knives up.

Our Noir Cutlery set uses environmentally friendly Rose Gold PVD Plating and a mix of clay powder paint and resin for the handles. To prevent scratching of the plating, wash pieces individually and dry using a soft cotton cloth.
